On August 12, 2017, the "Unite the Right" white supremacist riot occurred in my Hometown of Charlottesville Virginia, which resulted in 3 dead and 19 seriously injured.

As part of processing this incredibly traumatic event for my community, I organized friends and family to help me put up this mural a few days later on the community Free Speech Monument chalk wall, which anyone can use as a canvas as an expression of their first amendment rights.

The Mural is a re-contextualized version of the Virginia State Flag and Motto, "Sic Semper Tyrannis" which translates to "Thus unto tyrants".

The black stars represent and honor the lost lives and those injured in this tragic event.
